Dzogchen Cycles: Guru Yoga
March 7-9 2025
Even if you compare it with the teachings of all nine vehicles, you will never find a path more profound than guru yoga. Though it may be classified as a preliminary or foundational practice, it is in fact the final key point of all of the main practices’ paths, a royal road to coming into attunement with one’s natural realization. Jigme Lingpa, who had his transformative visionary encounter with Guru Rinpoche, is the root source of Guru Yoga teachings for the Heart Essence, Vast Expanse (Longchen Nyingthig).
Taking this all-sufficient guru yoga as the essence of your path, and having the good fortune to practice it, is due to your past purification. This is a rare situation, enjoyed only by a few.
This Guru Yoga, the focus of our retreat, is Jigme Lingpa’s own text, which crowns the Foundational Practice Ngondro, revealed by him.
In this teaching, he takes the opportunity to refresh our appreciation of lineage, details the steps of initiation relevant to the entire path, and augurs the sacred and unique Dzogchen paths for which these practices provide the foundation.
At the same time, whatever other practices you might already have in connection with Guru Rinpoche, Jigme Lingpa’s work can enrich them, including those of you already familiar with Adzom Rinpoche’s Becoming Guru Rinpoche practice.
The final and ultimate method for giving rise in your mindstream to the wisdom of realization are instructions on guru yoga. If you are not already accepted to Dzogchen Cycles, submit an informational application here: Apply Guru Yoga Retreat. Check a la carte if you are interested in the Guru Yoga retreat only; if the whole Dzogchen Cycles program is appealing, check full cycles. For more information click here.

Mind of Right Now with Lama Tenzin
March 29 & 30 2025
Online only
Our longtime teacher Lama Tenzin Samphel returns! He will continue teaching to render accessible the profound and simple teachings Abiding, Movement and Awareness, from a short text by Mipham Rinpoche. This famous work by one of Adzom Drukpa’s own teachers shows us how awareness of movement and stillness takes us to a natural wisdom beyond both. A golden opportunity for new or seasoned students of Dzogchen.

Dzogchen Cycles: Powa
May 12-18 2025
Online and In Person
Not long after founding his monastery in Rege, Rinpoche had a vision of Amitabha dancing in space above the sacred land he was reopening. Amitabha sang out:
May I and my companions, everyone
In all times be born in the Pure Land (of Amitabha).
That inspired him to begin the Amitabha festivals, and he put that prayer in our Powa practice text as well. Rinpoche’s connection with Amitabha is powerful, and with his blessings we are conducting a Powa retreat in his tradition. We sing sacred words and melody to practice sending our consciousness to the Pure Land, place of our real nature, so that we can actually do this when we die and help others through their death as well. Centered on teachings by A,d.z.om Rinpoche and the great Adzom Drukpa’s writings.

Ground, Path, and Fruition Prayer with Khenpo Yeshi
May 19-23 2025
Online and In Person
Khenpo will be teaching a short poem by Jigme Lingpa that is very close to his heart, and which precisely and elegantly describes the three core principles essential to the Dzogchen view
The ground, the path, and fruit. It is in the form of a prayer, bringing us a direct connection to those core perspectives.
