First year of Dzogchen Cycles program

Initiating retreat, May 5-12, 2017: Core lineage practices of the Heart Essence 

This retreat offers an experiential, in-depth introduction to Dzogchen Cycles, a path of natural awakening (sems nyid rang grol). Learn the core movements from seeing to being in counterpoint with Longchenpa’s Seven Trainings for Dzogchen.

Summer 2017 Teaching Tuesdays: Buddha Nature, part 1: Seeking

This teaching series will thread together teachings on Buddha Nature from Shantideva’s most famous text, the Bodhicaryavatara, with the classic Uttaratantra, as translated and commented upon by Karl Brunnholzl in When the Clouds Part.  If possible, we’ll also explore Tibetan commentaries on the realm of stainless space, the chos dbyings or dharmadhātu.

Fall 2017 Teaching Tuesdays: Buddha Nature, part 2: Further Seeking

In this series, Anne and Harvey will use the practices of taking refuge and cultivating bodhichitta to show their connections with buddha nature as discussed in the Uttaratantra.  They’ll also present two views of progress in Buddhist practice, the developmental and the discovery models, as another way to understand the path to buddhahood and continue to refine our understanding of Buddha Nature.

In this series, Anne and Harvey will lead us through Madhyamaka and the Perfection of Wisdom teachings as the basis for tantra, drawing in particular on the famous ninth chapter of the bodhicaryavatara and on Lama Tenzin Samphel’s teachings about the creation phase (skyes rim) of tantric practice.
